Coloring Eggs!

April 18, 2025

It’s Easter Weekend and that means eggs! As a kid I remember doing this, but I also remember just how bad it smelled and I didn’t enjoy it because of that smell. So, as an adult I’ve never really jumped on the opportunity to create this memory with my kids. However, Jamie has a much better outlook on things and set us up for a fantastic egg making party. Also, COVID messed up my nose and I don’t smell nearly as good as I used to so for me it was a pleasant experience. In the end the yoke was on me, as the eggsperience was eggceptionally fun! Good times had by all!

After the coloring it was time to eat them! I had no idea how much everyone liked hard boiled eggs! SadieAnn is unfortunately allergic to eggs but lucky for her she got to eat some chocolate. (I would’ve chosen the chocolate too, I like hard boiled eggs but only Ramen or Potato Salad).

Can we catch a Leprechaun?

March 17, 2025

There are no such things as insignificant holidays with Jamie. And I love it! Even St. Patricks day gets to have some fun involved. St. Patty Shirts, a Leprechaun trap, even green food for breakfast! Everyone had fun, but alas the Leprechaun escaped! He did manage to leave some chocolate gold for us, though.

We got a Bunny!

January 26, 2025
We named him Mud.

UPDATE: We got rid of the bunny! Ha. We ended up going back and getting a 2nd bunny but bunnies are just nasty. They poop SO MUCH. And then they sit in it. It was too much cleaning the cage out every day. They lasted about 6 weeks and then were gone. Kids threw a little bit of a sad fit but now they’re forgotten!

Japan 2024; Email Archives

January 15, 2025

It’s been a few months since returning from Japan and I have just realized I don’t have any posts about that trip on here! Why? Because I did a pop-up Newsletter, that’s why. And it was so good! I loved the daily debriefing of what was done, and reviewing the photos taken that day. I will most definitely do this on any extra-adventurous adventure I go on.

For those of you that missed those emails, I’m going to link to all of them below so you can read the day-by-day happenings. The TL;DR is the weather was hot, the food was amazing, the company was enjoyable, and the experiences memorable. Want to know more? Better read about it!

And there you have it! Nine delightful, photo-filled emails to read. I hope you enjoy them! What about the next adventure, you ask? Well, it’s happening in November. Jamie and I will be heading back to Japan to (hopefully) venture out of Tokyo and get down to Central and Southern Japan to see new places. In all my previous trips I’ve never gone past Osaka and it’s time! If you signed up for the newsletter for 2024 you’ll still be on for this 2025 trip – whether you want to be or not! If you’d like to join on, fill in the form below! Thanks!

How the sausage is made

January 12, 2025

Jamie got me a meat grinder attachment for the Bosch and… I LOVE IT. I’ve wanted to grind up my own hamburger and sausage for several years now and it is just as great as you’d imagine. Unless you imagine it not being great. Either way, it was fun, we made a lot of sausage for not a lot of dollars, and I’m excited to make more! Bonus question – what movie was I watching on the iPad?

A Year of Family Dates: January

January 7, 2025

For Christmas 2024 we gave the kids a year of family dates – something fun to do every month. January started off with a new adventure – attending a Jazz Game! We bought some cheap nose bleeds that actually turned out to be just perfect for what we needed, we were on the front row and had a great view of the game! Everyone had a blast, Odin was great and easy to handle… it was a fantastic evening.

Snowball Fight!

December 26, 2024

Snow! Finally! We’ve had temps around the mid 40’s for weeks on end with more or less clear skies all day – I’m not gonna complain however Christmas doesn’t feel right without snow! We woke up to a couple inches … and went to bed without any of it left. It’s been a curiously dry season!
